Né en 1964 en région parisienne d’un père africain et d'une mère française, Chris Oven (de son vrai nom Christophe Ouensou) fut selon ses propres dires un enfant curieux de tout toujours en ébullition.
Très jeune il canalisa son exubérance dans le sport, notamment l'athlétisme avant de s'intéresser à l'art sous toutes ses formes.
A 25 ans tout en enchaînant les petits boulots (chauffeur de taxi, libraire etc) toujours en contact avec les gens, il laisse sa propre forme d'expression mûrir et prendre forme.
Parallèlement il est en contact avec différents milieux - chanson, danse, cinéma, théâtre - jusqu'au jour où, à l'occasion d'un court-métrage (1999) il peut réunir tous les ingrédients qui forment sa personnalité : énergie, mouvement, espace, esthétique, inspiration, imagination...
Depuis lors il se consacre à la sculpture sous forme de performances, soit lors d'événements publics (défilés de mode) soit dans le cadre d'une recherche spirituelle vers une forme d'expression personnelle et authentique.
Ses matériaux de prédilection sont aujourd'hui le Linoléum, les copeaux d'aluminium, le plexiglass... Chris Oven expose régulièrement à Cannes et réalise des performances dans la région. Il vient d’être sélectionné pour le Art Hause au Tacheless de Berlin (29-31 aôut 08).

His real name is Christophe Ouensou. Born in 1964 in Creteil near from Paris.
His father is african and his mother is french.
They were very surprised to see that Chris was inrested and very curious about his environement.
Nothing could prevent him to reach everything around him : he touched evereything (he was 4 years old).
Very young he was turned in all kind of sport and more specificaly on athletism (1974). This was inherent to him to include mouvement and play in everything he was involved in.
He was attracted by many subject and arts expression (1984).
However he was following a definite line artistic though he was doing several work as taxi driver, bookseller, and other job in connection directly with people and life (he was 25 years old).

In parallele he was in contact with song performing, dance, writing for theatre, cinema... until a precise moment when he realized a sculpture during a short movie (1999) and found all together the ingredients of energy, mouvement, space, esthetic, inspiration and fantasy, that are the important part of him.
